Rice Paper Batik for teens and adults, Sat. Oct 22, 9am-4pm $75

Learn the process of rice paper batik painting with Kansas artist, Jan Butler. Jan will teach you how to use watercolors and wax to create a unique painting. Bring a photo or other reference material to inspire your painting. All other materials provided. Students will take home a finished painting that may be framed, or use their finished painting to collage into another artwork later on. There will be a lunch break, so bring a sack lunch or plan to get lunch at one of the local eateries. Class is limited to 12. Payment in advance is required to hold your spot. Refunds will only be given for notice of at least 48 hours before the class.

Other Opportunities

Birthday Parties: Choose from a variety of art activities to fit your child's interests. Parties run one and a half to two hours. Cost: $60 for 8 children, $5 each additional child.

Youth Groups: Need help earning your Art Badge? Is there an art project you'd like to do with your youth group, and you need some expertise? The Art Lady can help! Fees vary. Call for details: (402) 631-9578

Private Instruction: For anyone interested in building their drawing or painting skills and want one-on-one instruction. Fees vary. Contact the art center to discuss possibilities and make arrangements.
